The Friedkin Group, a Houston-based consortium of companies that includes Gulf States Toyota, announced Aug. 18 that Northside Lexus would relocate to a growing development just south of The Woodlands.
The $40 million, 158,400-square-foot facility is being built on a 22-acre site within Grace Community Church’s mixed-use development called Cathedral Lakes at 24400 North Freeway. The new site is about six miles north of the dealership’s existing location at 17925 North Freeway.
Construction is underway, and the location is expected to open in December 2018, Bret Aldridge, president of Northside and Westside Lexus, said in a press release.
According to the press release, the new facility will offer a large display area featuring more than 1,200 new, certified and pre-owned vehicles; 86 service stalls and a large parts inventory allowing for quick one day turn-around for most service repairs; complimentary wash and vehicle vacuum for all customer service vehicles and free shuttle service to The Woodlands Mall; and a full-service Collision Center that has received the Certified Lexus Collision Center Shop of the Year award four times.
“As we’ve undergone six facility expansions and experienced increasing demand for Lexus vehicles, we felt the time was right to explore new sites that would allow us to enhance our customer amenities,” Aldridge said in the release, noting the dealership is nearly 20 years old. “The growth of The Woodlands, along with the recent completion of the Grand Parkway and the Exxon Mobil relocation, made the Cathedral Lakes Development an ideal location for our new state-of-the-art facility.”
Grace Community Church’s Woodlands campus is creating the Cathedral Lakes Development on more than 100 acres of land it’s owned for several years along Interstate 45. Last month, the church announced that The Medical Resort at the Woodlands, a skilled nursing facility, is being built on more than 5 acres within the development.
